The Grand Trine

Synchronicities and magical happenings occur in threes. This painting reflects three incidents in which the mother nurturing energy saved a child.

In February 2000, while visiting a remote canyon I witnessed a baby big horn sheep’s dilemma. I looked up about 100 feet along the side of a craggy rock face. There on the ledge was the baby sheep pacing back and forth, unable to free himself. Apparently he had tried to jump onto the ledge but didn’t have the muscle power to get back up to his mother. She was frantically calling out for him, and a few of the other bighorn were trying to reach him. I also became emotionally involved in the situation. I was telling the baby that in order to break out of this repetitive pacing back and forth groove, he needed to try a new action and change the pattern. I realized that I identified with the baby’s crisis of feeling stuck. I proceeded up the canyon realizing that I couldn’t help. Later that afternoon, I returned to the spot and couldn’t see the baby. I assumed he had broken free. That night I built a campsite directly underneath the ledge.

I was emotionally charged and desired to break free of my personal limitations. Enthusiastically, I worked by the campfire late into the night to plan new actions to release myself. The next morning when I went to check the ledge, I noticed the baby was still there and desperately pacing. The mother left and my hope became despair. After I exited the canyon, I called the ranger. Bighorn Sheep are endangered and it became important to try to save the baby from possible death from starvation or a mountain lion attack. The ranger contemplated either a helicopter rescue or a rock climbing escape. After lengthy conference calls, the rescue parties realized that they would be risking their personal safety because of the ruggedness of the high cliff walls. Depressed and upset I realized there was nothing else I could do. The next morning the ranger called to let me know that the mother sheep had come down to the ledge to nurse the baby. With nurturing and time a few days later the ranger reported that the baby was safe and off the ledge. I identified and felt there was hope for me!

One month later, I was hiking in a desolate part of the desert. I heard a “meow, meow” off in the distance. As I moved closer I saw a tiny scrawny kitten stuck up in a mesquite tree. I rescued the kitten and she immediately began to purr. I wondered how she possibly could have survived with all the coyotes and bobcats in the area. I named her Magic. Over the next few weeks I tried to give her away. Each time, the recipient stated that Magic was my cat and I should keep her. I then realized that I was an observer as I watched the bighorn sheep drama. Now I had become the rescuer as I took action and became the mother for this hungry little kitten. Magic’s presence has brought us much joy!

The first experience was my role as an observer, the second was rescuer and action, and the third experience involved the rescue of my own inner child. Note the baby bighorn, the kitten and the child create a triangle, a Grand Trine. The Mother Spirit in the sky reflects the rescuing and harnessing and directing of my inner child. A Grand Trine represents an astrological configuration that represents a clear easy path toward achieving one’s goals. The break through occurred when I was able to summon help for MYSELF..…not only for others. I also have a T-Square in my chart. As I break free of its confining energy, I can move more easily through the Grand Trine.
