This painting represents protection. I experienced the presence of my guardian angel when I slept at the base of Mooney Falls on the Havasupai Native American Reservation.
Mooney Falls is the halfway point in the canyon down to the Colorado River, a fifty mile round trip journey. My friend and I asked the ranger where we could camp to get away from all the tourists. She suggested that we spend the night at Mooney Falls. We proceeded to climb down 300 feet of solid rock walls with ropes and chains, passed through caves, and arrived at the bottom of the falls. That day we explored the terrain toward the river and returned to the base of the falls by nightfall.
My friend and I started to discuss how to manifest practical magic. We were sitting at the base of this waterfall vortex of energy. My intent was to get to the Colorado River and complete the difficult hike. As I sent my intent up to the universe, it crystallized and took on physical form the following day.
It was dark and my fears started to emerge as boulders rolled down the sides of the canyon walls. The sound of the falls was overwhelming. The water level was slowly rising, indicating potential flashflood danger. There was no way to escape except by climbing up the ropes and chains, an ascent that was too risky at night. Scary faces and imagery and intense energy increased my fears. I was trapped! I was forced to stay, deal with my physical discomfort, face my fears and transform them by bringing in positive energy. I asked Spirit to bring my guardian angel for protection for the night. I felt the amazing presence of my guardian angel. The water level stabilized and we fell asleep peacefully.
In the middle of the night, I awoke to see a circle of bats flying around us. Bats represent rebirth in the Native American tradition. By letting go of my fears and drawing in my guardian angel for protection, I was birthing a positive process. The window in the rock with the light coming through represents transformation. The person in the water is receiving the LIGHT from both the window and the guardian angel. Notice the beings in the water and canyon supporting the process.
