Reflections from Mother
Earth
In May 2000, my daughter
graduated from college and moved from our home in Tucson to San Diego.
I was creating two new paintings at this time. Spirit told me that the
three eagles in my paintings represented my daughter, my life partner,
and myself
that we were messengers of Spirit and my daughter was
leading the way to establish a second work base for the channeling of
this energy.
I noticed myself becoming increasingly preoccupied with the details of
the painting and wasnt allowing Spirit to guide me.
Seeking balance, I backpacked into my favorite nearby canyon. The trail
meanders back and forth on both sides of a stream. After the first stream
crossing, there lay a dead mouse on the trail in front of us. I listened
and heard Spirit say that the mouse energy was telling me that I was overly
scrutinizing my paintings, therefore leading to an impasse! I journeyed
deeper into the canyon seeking more answers.
A frog was sitting on a rock blending in beautifully with its surroundings.
His message to me was to blend as he does, and receive the messages from
other dimensions. As I walked through the stream, the water assisted this
receptivity as the messages from Spirit were grounded in the water. Water
is magnetic, attracts energy, and is a super-conductive medium.
As I hiked deeper into the canyon, I noticed many shadows of birds as
they flew overhead. Spirits message to me was that I needed to learn
balance..
pay attention to the earthy details, represented by the
shadows cast directly on my body and also to see the overall big picture
as represented by the soaring birds overhead. This is the ultimate integration
of Heaven and Earth! I realized that two of the birds were the eagles
in the painting, Reflections from Mother Earth. They reminded
me to look up into the light, see the overall view, and also embrace the
earthy shadows. I didnt want to miss any of the treasures of this
amazing canyon so I continually noticed myself looking both up and down,
creating the balance that was requested of me. In the painting Reflections
from Mother Earth, notice the eagle above the sun and the shadow
of the eagle with the dead mouse in its beak below the sun..
above
and below
..blending light and shadow, and the letting go of being
overly concerned with details.
I noticed two big-horn sheep. Spirit informed me that they represent the
fruition of goals that partnership brings. The sheep also represent the
strength and wisdom one can achieve by listening to Spirit. Other animals
came in twos. Two hummingbirds spoke of the joy that can be attained in
partnership. Two rattlesnakes reminded me of the magic that can be achieved
in partnership through clash, as both transmute negative into positive
energy creating a higher consciousness. Two gila monsters had a message
for me. They stated, From our dreams we can create concrete reality
as we work together to create our future.
I arrived at a waterfall in a tropical setting. As I gazed into the pool,
a grouping of tiny emerald green fish appeared at the waters edge.
Through my intuition, their message to me was to establish another work
base in the tropical setting of southern California, and that my daughter
was leading the way!
At the further most end of the canyon, the sun became low in the sky and
tipped the top of the reeds with golden light. An entourage of dragonflies
magically appeared as if to receive the very last light of the day. Sensing
their playful energy, they communicated that I should not get caught in
the illusion of the outer world that creates judgment and criticism. Their
gift to me was the remembrance of the letting go of worldly expectations,
be true to myself, and not validate my life by my outer performance.
Returning to the campground at dusk, we noticed many bats swooping overhead.
They reminded us of the rebirthing of balance and integration of the messages
from all the animals we had encountered. The next morning as we hiked
out of the canyon, many large multi-colored butterflies were telling us
of the positive transformation we were experiencing. A large eagle flew
directly in front of us, letting us know he was the third eagle in the
painting. At the last stream crossing, a huge javelina lumbered in front
of us. His low profile suggested to us to remember to move forward with
humility and to be in service.
As you look at Freedom of Flight, note the bighorn sheep near
the waterfall, the emerald green fish in the small stream in the open
field, the dragonfly in the foreground, the bat on the far left in the
rocks, and the hummingbird in the flowers. The rattlesnake is coiled up
on the right side of the stream, and there are many magical beings throughout.
In the painting Reflections from Mother Earth, note the dead
mouse in the mouth of the shadow of the eagle. The frog and the gila monster
are both near the saguaro cactus on the left. The javelina family is on
the lower right side, and there are many rock spirits and fairies in the
watery path.
