"Sea of Light"

A swim with the dolphins near El Matador Beach, north of Los Angeles, inspired this Sea of Light painting. This beach has a strong undercurrent and many ominous spires of rocks creating a potentially dangerous swimming situation.

While walking on this rugged beach one morning, the artist and her life partner spotted a pod of dolphins. It appeared as if the dolphins were telepathically signaling to the artist with their expanded energy field, to come join them in their magical sea of light. In the excitement of the moment, the artist jumped into the freezing water forgetting that she still had her street clothes on. She combated the strong undercurrent and frigid temperatures to have the opportunity to get close to these amazing creatures. As she swam close to them, to her dismay they swam away. She was indignant that they had called her in, only to swim away. She could feel the intensified energy field that was created by all the dolphins together. The energy was such an exhilarating high that the artist experienced no fear, even though she noticed she was quite far from the shore, and her extremities were becoming numb.

An inspirational inner voice told the artist to stop swimming after the dolphins and instead allow them to come to her. This voice told her not to push or force the situation. Just at that moment, a dolphin popped his snout up above the ocean waves within a few feet from her. The dolphin's tachyon energy field was extraordinary!

When reality finally set in, the artist noticed she was quite far from shore and was becoming number from the cold. Because of the incredible high of being with the dolphin, fear was not experienced.

The artist then began to swim back to shore. Because there was a powerful undercurrent, she had to avoid crashing into the tall rock spires. She swam sideways to get out of danger and landed into the safety net of the beach.

When the painting, Sea of Light, was being created, the artist tried to consciously remember the experience. She tried so hard to make it happen and control the painting by trying to methodically paint the dolphins in place. She couldn't force their bodies to take on form on the canvas. Frustrated the artist quit painting with no apparent dolphins recorded. The next day, the artist's friend was viewing the painting and excitedly exclaimed "Shari, there's a dolphin in this painting. Did you notice it?" There it was! Right in the center of the rock portal! Dolphin spirit had come through with a message for the artist. "ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN. DON'T FORCE IT. TRUST!"

The first challenge was to trust that the dolphin would come to her. The second challenge was to trust the dolphin would appear on the canvas. The artist continues to learn to trust in Spirit.
